Chained
You were sitting, struggling against her golden chain,
your hands, long fingers picking at
the lock
passing you by I caught the glance of your eyes
so I paused and stopped to help you struggle
freeing my
soul to rise among the clouds.
I stood, playing with the broken chain
My hands, small palms cupping the delicate links
catching
the lock between your eyes and hers
I
moved and gave to save myself
freeing my body to sink among the earth.
There I waited, watching you struggle
against the casting of new golden chain,
your tongue, soft flesh licking the lock
but the ensnare of such a sugar trap
enchantments not undone till sweetness melted
so I sat and waited till I could help myself
freeing my being to life amongst life.
